2008 Summer Transition Program, June 8 - August 1, 2008

What is the Summer Transition Program?

Summer Transition is an 8 week bridge program for 1st year underrepresented ethnic minority students to gain college credit and receive a scholarship before starting the fall semester.

What does the Summer Transition Program provide?

The Summer Transition Program places you, as a student, in the center of the college environment.

Through this program, students will learn to "own" their education, learn the importance of autonomy and community, as well as appreciate the values of this university:

  • Respect
  • Responsibility
  • Discover
  • Excellence

Students will leave with the foundation necessary for strong personal, professional, and academic development.

As a college student, you will be enrolled in four credit hours which can be used toward your degree requirements.

What are the benefits of the Summer Transition Program?

  • Jumpstart your first year of college
  • Live in a campus residential hall with other currently enrolled university students
  • College course credits
  • Attend smaller-sized classes
  • Receive academic support and coaching
  • Earn a scholarship for the upcoming academic year upon successful completion
